I finally uploaded some of the pictures I took of a very snowy Yosemite to Flickr. Here are a few of my favorites:
And here I am, aka the Michelin Man, in my winter parka. I'm wearing a hat I knit out of Sinsation yarn, though you can't see much of it.
Gorgeous -- especially the reflection. What a great winter trip. I've never been to Yosemite in winter and you've really piqued my interest!
ReplyDeleteNice pictures! Cute hat :) and lovely snow burried adirondacks.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to ask you a question about thread. I'm a crocheter but i love to crochet with thread. And now that crochet rayon thread ponchos and shirts are in style, i've been wanting to find that same silken-like thread. Instead, i can only find course cotton at the local hobby store. So i moved onto other crafts. That and i did one too many newborn baby dresses. Anyway, i've been missing the craft and i was wondering if you have any advice on where to find nice crochet thread--like the stuff you find in department stores in the form of ponchos, et al. Any suggestions? I'm so sick of course breadspread weight cotton!
J, you need to go browse in some yarn stores. Sure, the better yarns cost more, but why crochet (or knit) with yucky yarn? You'll find yarn in a variety of fiber contents and weights, including fine "thread" weight. You might also be pleased to find that crocheting is gaining in popularity again.
ReplyDeleteStunningly beautiful pictures. You make me urge for travelling!
